Eric Grossman, praised by the New York Times as a” brilliant soloist,” a versatile performer. Eric’s first orchestral appearance was at the age of 7, performing a Vivaldi violin concerto with Dr. Leo Kucinski. A graduate of The Juilliard School he has performed with orchestras in the U.S, Europe, Korea, Japan, China, and Cuba. Eric isartistic director of Cosmopolitan Chamber Players since 1989 and was a participant in the Marlboro Music Festival. Eric was raised in Sioux City byhis late parents Marlene and John Grossman.
Sasha Grossman, born into a musical family shares a birthday with one of his favorite pianists Arthur Rubinstein. Sasha began playing the piano as soon as he could reach the keys. Taught by his mother, Sasha was accepted into the Special Music School for gifted children at the Kaufman Music Center in New York. He has won many Arts Grants and competition prizes in both the U.S. and Europe. Since 2021, Sasha has beenstudying in England at the Yehudi Menuhin School.

Laura Pedersen, internationally acclaimed American soprano brings to opera houses and concert halls an intense lyric soprano voice, beauty of line, and a rare ability to make each role come alive. Ms.Pedersen has sung leading roles with Indianapolis Opera, Cleveland Opera, Di Capo Opera, Opera Delaware, Florida Opera, Sacramento Opera, Atlantic Opera and many more. During her four years as fest soprano inBremen, Germany, she sang countlessperformances in original languages. Laura is a graduate of Sioux City North High School.
Clark Sturdevant, a lyric tenor has performed with several companies including: Dayton Opera, Kentucky Opera, Winter Opera St. Louis, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Opera Project, The Ohio Light Opera for the Young, Wichita Grand Opera,and Natchez Festival of Music. Clark has sung more than fifty roles and has been seen frequently on stage in St. Louis. After a brief hiatus from music, Clark returned to the stage for the first time last August appearing as Luiz in Winter Opera’s production of The Gondoliers by Gilbert and Sullivan. Clark also grew up in Sioux City and graduated from North High School.

Founded in 2016 by looping cellist David Downing and mult-instrumentalist Darci Gamerl, this classical crossover ensemble is based in Omaha, NE. Their mission is to create meaningful community connections through compositions that blend lyrical, poignant lines with healing music science. Their work often combines immersive live music with evocative imagery. Notable commissions include film scores for “Nebraska Flatwater” and ”Willa Cather: Breaking the Mold,” the latter featuring Commentary by documentarian Ken Burns. In 2023, the Duo was awarded Outstanding New Artist by the Omaha Entertainment Awards. That same year, they were also finalist for the American Prize in composition and the Ernst Bacon Prize for the their performance of American Music.

Seth May-Patterson, violist is Senior Client Services Manager, Founder and Artistic Director of Rock Orchestra Kansas City (ROKC.) Seth has a demonstrated history of working in the performing arts industry. Skilled in Recording Session Work, Music Education, Arranging, Composition, and Live Performance in a variety of genres and environments. Seth, who grew up in Sioux City, currently subs with the Kansas City Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and sits Principal Viola for the Lee’s Summit Symphony.

Shevelia is an alternative jazz ensemble made up of three Des Moines area musicians. Shevelia performs original music along with arrangements of their favorite jazz standards. Gabe Scheid hails from Sioux City and currently lives in Ames, IA were he works as the Production Manager at xBk Live, a local Des Moines music venue. Sean Veeder is originally from Waterloo, IA, a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and lives in Des Moines. Nic Addelia is originally from Bettendorf, IA, a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, and currently living in Des Moines.

Clarinetist Benjamin Baron enjoys a career as
performer, educator and author. The New York Times praised his performance with the Locrian Chamber Players for “having evoked sounds of nature” and recommended that audiences “listen for the lone clarinet” in the Encores production of The Light in the Piazza. Baron has performed with the New York
Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and made his Carnegie Hall solo debut playing Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto to a sold-out audience in Weill Hall. An avid chamber musician, Baron is the clarinetist for the Montclair Wind Quintet of the Americas. He is currently on the faculty of Montclair State University and serving as Woodwind Department Coordinator. Originally from Sioux City, Ben currently resides in a suburb of New York City with his wife and two daughters.
